Heather and I played Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, and we had tons of fans and friends in the audience from our first downbeat through the very end of the show. Kevin Humphrey joined us on guitar, and we had a great show together. The club packed out by about 10pm with potential singers. So glad to see bunches of people we haven’t seen in a while like Sarah, Randi, Sam, Brandon, Susan, Taylor, Anna, Damon, Len, and so many more! After our show at the end of the night, fellow piano bar player Kayla Roth appeared from the crowd and had a nice long chat with Heather and I. It feels good to have so many great people show up for us.
Friends Bar 3/26/24
I sat in with the Long Lost Locals again tonight in Austin, TX, on 6th Street. It was a bunch of fun performing with Nathan, Micah, and guest drummer Charlie Jones. I had a fella come up after the show and told me his father used to play piano with Willie Nelson in the ‘70s, and then told me I was one of the best keyboard player he’s seen anywhere. That’s a big compliment, and one that was hard for me to take, but I really appreciated the sentiment! It’s always nice when someone connects to what I’m playing.
Moonshine & Ale 3/23/24
Heather and I had a great time in New Braunfels tonight with drummer Chris Wallis! We had a packed house and tons of requests. “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Proud Mary”, “Bitch is Back”, “Love Story” and so many other tunes were played by request. Heather and Chris are so much fun to gig with, and Moonshine & Ale is a great venue. I always feel so lucky after playing shows like these!
Happy Cow 3/22/24
The Hill Country Gentlemen reunited tonight in Hunter, TX, along with friends of ours, The Shady Rest Band. Troy, Kevin, Jeremiah, Clay and I had a bunch of fun as we ran through a bunch of tunes. It was great to hear Craig and Nate play before our set, too! Christine and Heather came out and took some pictures. I was able to introduce Heather to all the other musicians I’ve worked with, and it felt good to have worlds coming together. Christine took some great pictures, and I captured a ton with my GoPro. Fun night, great music, good friends, and beautiful weather. What more could I ask for?
Moonshine & Ale 3/21/24
Before our show tonight in New Braunfels, we met up with my wife and our buddy Pancho for some dinner. Christine headed home, and the other three of us headed to Moonshine & Ale to play for Live Band Karaoke. We had a few technical difficulties, but we got it figured out quickly. Everyone had fun singing with us!
